COLORADO
Welcome
The Colorado and New Mexico series was inspired by a trip I took to visit relatives in June of 2004. The paintings in this series extend from central and south eastern Colorado down to Taos, NM. The goal of these paintings is to show the diversity of The West from the arid high plains of Bent's Old Fort to the lush grandeur of the Rocky Mountains of Gold and Silver Lining and the natural beauty fond in the metropolitan areas Garden of the Gods, to the Southwestern flavor of Taos, NM (Prayer Garden).
The vacation encompassed numerous highlights of Colorado and New Mexico, including the high plains out to La Junta, and the Scenic Highway of Legends through the Spanish Peaks region, as well as Denver, Colorado Springs, Taos, the Arkansas and Cimarron River Valleys, The Presidential Range up to St. Elmo's and Rocky Mountain National Park.
This is the first half of the series, the remainder will be up around Christmas 2005. For now, slow down, take a breath of mountain air, and enjoy the series.
